Argentina's embassy will be opened in Bangladesh

The popularity of Argentina football team was already high in Bangladesh. However, Bangladeshis have grabbed the world's attention due to their immense passion for the team in the World Cup in Qatar. Bangladesh is also going to get the benefits. The foreign minister of Argentina is going to open the embassy next month.

Argentine Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero is coming to Dhaka on February 26. He will inaugurate the embassy on February 27 the next day. During the visit, he will also meet with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

On Monday (January 30), Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said in response to questions from media persons at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that the Foreign Minister of Argentina is coming to Bangladesh on a 2-day visit on February 26. A policy decision has been taken to open the country's embassy in Dhaka. Besides, the Foreign Secretary of India is coming to Dhaka in the middle of next month.

After Argentina won the World Cup last year, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sent a letter to the country's President Alberto Fernandez congratulating him. Argentine President Alberto wrote a letter thanking Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in response to the congratulatory message.

A video of Bangladeshi fans cheering after Messi's goal against Mexico in the group stage of the World Cup in Qatar caught the attention of the world after it was posted on FIFA's official Twitter account. The video quickly went viral on social media. The incident was also publicized in various Argentine media.

Later Argentina's national football team's official Twitter account tweeted about Bangladesh, 'Thank you for supporting our team! They (Bangladeshis) are crazy like us!'

Bangladeshis started thinking of Argentina as their own after such incident. And this time the opening of the embassy will increase the sincerity of Bangladesh with the country.
